The stench of immortality.
This split release features three tracks each from Polish project Atum and American project Roto Visage, with the six tracks totalling forty minutes of playing time. The unifying theme of Syndrom Cotarda is Cotard’s syndrome, a mental disorder first described by French neurologist Jules Cotard in 1880. Sufferers from Cotard’s syndrome, also known as ‘negation delirium’, believe that they no longer exist, and that they have lost everything – possessions, form, identity, even life itself.
Special handmade packaging with cover printed on cardboard. All together composed of two separate telescopic pieces, the first piece is a printed wrapper of sorts. Numbered by hand in a limited release of 200 copies.

You’ll find here projects which have released their music on FFS, and a few tracks of people who’ve never shown on FFS, and finally 30 min. audio material from gig that DJ RedSkeye played at some club in USA in april of 2006. Harsh mind numbing noise juxtaposed with eerie atmospheric drones. Roto Visage proves once again that the nightmares of the listener are very real, this time by bringing forth the personal misery and pain in which the Bush administration has brought on to the planet. Breath from a being made of mud.
This highly abstract release from Roto Visage is mostly minimal, yet in some instances dense, containing layer upon layer of bleak, disturbing and desolate soundscapes. The debut album “Der Golem,” can be closely aligned with dark ambient yet moves away from the genre with its organic, meditative explorations. The inherent isolation within the tracks is at times uncomfortable, a forced introspection, but quickly sinks into a dark solitude, as though anything beyond melancholy would be unnatural. This schizophrenic release will surely leave you wanting more.
